A few shots that I did from the stage performance at the Contessa Awards  [ Hair styling  awards show ] in Toronto. I was not covering this show but the great production and styles made me fire a few shots . Babak Photos

This Naha Fashion Collection was shot away from the main studio white cove that we were shooting the rest of  our collections in that day . I found an old  abundant dusty storage room in the back and  thought it would go well with the clothing and the hair. I do like the way this one shot – It is very hard to pull off the ” army ” look but I think we did it on tis shoot – it has the right feel for me.  I re photographed the published collection hanging off a rope rather than just putting up the PDF as i don’t think the lay out of the spread is very clever . I thought it was a great idea when Salon Magazine approached me to make a spoof collection based on my 2004 photos entries to the Contessa awards.  I exaggerated some of the elements that were in the original collection to get the point a cross but did not use the same back grounds or lighting as I thought that would have been too simple and  obvious. I enjoyed making this collection with all its little nuances .
